St. Clair Hospital and Local Non-Profit Using Social Media To Assist Area Families

St. Clair Hospital is asking all Tweeters to help South Hills Interfaith Ministries (SHIM) provide holiday meals for needy residents of the area by participating in the Hospital's upcoming #Tweet2Help drive.

 

Tips for Eating Healthy on a Budget

   According to the United States Department of Agriculture, a realistic low-cost at-home food plan is about $110 per week for a family of two, and $187 per week for a family of four who have kids over six years old. Even with their low-cost figures, some families may wonder in this economy how to make that work, while still striving to eat healthy meals. The good news is that there are many things that families can do to help keep costs down, yet eat healthy at the same time.

   A recent study from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden found that by consuming fewer calories, aging can be slowed down and the development of age-related diseases, like type 2 diabetes and cancer, can be delayed.

The Media and Mental Health Awards honor print, online, radio and television media coverage that depict mental health issues with sensitivity and accuracy.
